The Mountains are calling and you must go! Yes, realize your long-awaited dream of visiting Sikkim, a beautiful state tucked away in North-East India. Sikkim is famous for its scenic views of Himalayan Mountains, organic farming, exotic variety of flowers and a culture steeped in Buddhism.

North-Sikkim is one of the must-visit places in Sikkim owing to its pristine views of nature and untouched village life. It is a beautiful region which lies close to China and Tibet. Gurudongmar Lake, Chopta Valley, Thangu, Lachen, Lachung, Yumthang Valley (valley of flowers), etc are some of the best places to see in North Sikkim.

The 5 Days Unforgettable North Sikkim Tour by Drive to Northeast starts from the state capital Gangtok. Starting from day 1 you will get to enjoy scenic drives along the mountain roads of North-East. The enchanting view of the River Teesta and the surrounding mist-laden hills will transport you to another world away from the chaos of the city. After a good night’s sleep in Gangtok, we will start our journey to Lachen, a serene village in North Sikkim.

On the way to Lachen we will visit a few popular tourist places in Sikkim such as Tashi view point, Singhik view point and Seven Sisters Waterfalls. Tashi view point which is located about 8 kms from Gangtok is a perfect spot to enjoy mesmerizing views of the Kanchenjunga mountain range. You can also get distant views of Phodong Monastery and Labrang Monastery, two famous monasteries in Sikkim. Seven Sisters waterfalls is another beautiful tourist spot on the way to Lachen. As the name says, you can see magnificent views of water flowing from seven waterfalls along a rugged cliff surrounded by beautiful greenery. This waterfall looks even more gorgeous after the rains during the months June and July. We will also stop at another tourist spot named Singhik View Point from where you can get sweeping views of Mt. Khangchendzonga and Mt. Siniolchu.

After reaching Lachen, relax and relish some traditional Sikkimese cuisines for dinner. If you have come to experience peace and tranquility, this little hamlet is the perfect place to be. Next day early morning after breakfast we will start our journey to Gurudongmar Lake (17,200 ft.) via Chopta Valley and Thangu. Gurudongmar is the highest altitude lake in Sikkim and is situated at an altitude of 5181m. This heavenly water body is surrounded by snow-clad mountains of Himalayas. It is a sacred lake for Buddhists as they believe that Guru Padmasambhava had visited this place in 8th century. Another historical belief is that the saint Guru Nanak visited this lake during his return from Tibet in the 15th century.

Chopta Valley and Thangu are two must-see places on the way to Gurudongmar Lake. Blessed with alpine meadows, rhododendrons and many other rare species of flora and fauna this region offers unique vistas of nature. Thangu valley is famous for the Yak race conducted every year. After visiting the lake, we will return to Lachen and further drive to Lachung. Lachung is another rustic village in North Sikkim which offer a unique experience for tourists.

On the next day we will be visiting the gorgeous Yumthang valley also called as the Valley of flowers in Sikkim.
