Yumthang Valley is a surreal landscape which turns into a paradise of flowers during the blooming season. It is one of the best places to visit in North Sikkim owing to its natural beauty. Also called as the Valley of Flowers in Sikkim, this beautiful sanctuary is home to a wide variety of exotic flowers, bubbling hot springs and alpine meadows all seen against a stunning backdrop of the Himalayan Mountains.
Yumthang Valley encloses the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, where more than 24 species of Rhododendron flowers have been identified. The peak blooming season for Rhododendron flowers is from April to May. Apart from Rhododendrons, you may also spot rare flowers like iris, primulas, poppies, lilies and many more. The dazzling Yumthang River, flows along the valley, adding charm to the zillion colorful blooms. You can also take a walk down to the river, sit back and enjoy a hot bowl of Maggi or soup.
Yumthang valley is famous for picture-postcard views of cattle grazing around the meadows and various rare species of birds. There are many natural hot springs in the valley, which are considered to have high medical properties. The best time to visit Yumthang Valley is between late February and mid-June. If you love to indulge in the local culture and witness some traditional performances, you must plan your Sikkim tour during the Losar Festival (Tibetan New Year) which usually falls in February or March. During the peak winter season, the valley remains closed due to heavy snowfall.
Yumthang Valley is approximately 128 kms away from the capital city Gangtok. As the valley is close to the Indo-China border, all tourists would need an entry permit to visit Yumthang Valley. LACHUNG - YUMTHANG - GANGTOKAfter early breakfast drive to Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft. / 24 km / 2 hours) popularly know as valley of flower. Back to Lachung and departure for Gangtok.

- The car provided for the trip will be on point to point as per itinerary and it cannot be used under disposal.
- Guest travelling in a group should travel with minimum baggage only. Kindly do not exceed baggage allowance of 15 kgs per person. If in case guest travelling in a group has exceeded the baggage policy then they need to hire additional vehicle if in case the cab driver denies for extra luggage. The charges for additional vehicle need to be paid by customer locally. The restriction of baggage policy is due to hilly area and safety of the passengers.
